term “Refrigeration Mechanic”

ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. They also connect the air

points for assembling, installation, and installing components, installing
wirings to connect components to an electric power supply and calibrating associated

documents refrigeration systems.

qualified Refrigeration Mechanic or journeyman in Canada?
There
are two pathways to becoming a refrigeration mechanic or trade person or
journeyman in Canada.
1. Apprenticeship pathway
Apprenticeship
programs are for individuals who are inside Canada and have an employer to
sponsor them. They have to complete course work and necessary training under
the supervision of a journeyman for 11,660 hours which expands on approximately
5 years.
2. Challenge Pathway
Challenge
programs are for individuals who are inside or outside Canada and have
extensive experience working in the occupation and wish to challenge the
certification.

Overview
If
you are a person working in refrigeration and Air conditioning occupation
outside Canada (all countries) and have verifiable experience of 10,830
documented hours, then you don’t need to complete any training or course work
in Canada. All you need to do is gather your work experience documents and
educational documents and lodge an online application from your country of
residence to challenge the red seal Refrigeration exam, off course you have to
pay an application processing fee.
Once
your online application with supporting documents and processing fee is
submitted, the regulatory authority (each Canadian state or province has its
own trade regulatory authority) will scrutinize the submitted application and related
documents and then get it verified by your employer. After the verification
process is successfully completed you get approval to challenge the red seal
exam.

The
red seal exam is conducted only inside Canada; there is no authorized exam centre
outside Canada. Once the red seal exam application is approved; you get 36 months’
time to come to Canada to write the exam.
